I must say I was delighted with the review that you did (under the Foresight umbrella) for Litron re: our In Vitro micronucleus test (and kits). It was helpful to have all of those extra interviews and comments from end users. In addition, how nice that you received positive input about the science that Litron conducts...needless to say we were pleased to be thought of that way.
We saw from your review that our only direct "kit" competition (that you were able to uncover) comes from BD Biosciences. They have some sort of a micronucleus analysis kit for In Vitro use but 1) they can only use one cell line and 2) they only get a micronucleus measurement and 3) those imaging machines are 3 or 4 times what a flow cytometer costs (what our technology uses). Litron can use just about any mammalian cell line we've tested so far and we get 3 or 4 different endpoints. For those reasons alone we believe we will have a "head's up" against any competition that comes along. (However we aren't scheduled to release the service until May and who knows what can happen between now and then.)
Because of the quality of the review that you did I am hoping to use your company again in the future. Do you need any micronucleus analyses run?:.)...we'd love to barter for more work from Foresight but we aren't in a good enough cash position to be able to hire you. What a great idea this was for the NIH to cover this cost for successful Phase I participants...I think it will do a great deal as we think about selling an In Vitro MN service and ultimately kits in the spring.

I have read through the report and found it excellent and informative. Karen has certainly identified a new market that can be reached at a much earlier stage than the one we were planning. It could have a significant impact on our product development pathway!
We have already followed up on the report by Karen and her specific suggestion, and will be meeting with an investigator to discuss further experiments that could lead to a new application for our product.
It would be useful, as you suggested, to conclude the report process with a conference call. I presume you will set that up. My times are flexible, (although I am not available Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday next week). Please let me know what times would work for Karen and Phyl.
