Our Technology Niche Analaysis™ is designed for technologies where reasonable estimates can be made of downstream performance. You should have completed proof of concept testing, or, at the very least, have a solid theoretical foundation from which empirical performance estimates can be derived.

This page provides an overview as to the content of a Technology Niche Analaysis.™ Please be aware that the TNA™ is the final report. You will receive an interim report and other communications via email during its production.

1. Executive Summary

This section includes summary information on the technology, including a brief non-proprietary description, a recommended application for initial market entry, the identification of the end-users in that application, and the competitive advantages of your technology for those end-users. It is designed to be a “tear-off” that can be used as non-proprietary marketing material.

2. Methodology Used in the Study

This section explains the method behind the TNA™.

3. Competitive Opening

This section looks at the preferences of end-users in the market niche, their needs, and their requirements. Conversations with potential end-users and experts are included in this section. We also highlight important metrics in the market, along with our insights into relevant standards, regulations, and certifications.

4. Competition

This section takes a look at existing products in the space, the patent field, and also examines research and other projects underway that might affect the commercialization of the technology.

5. Market

This section looks at the total addressable market for the technology in the specific application, the current and future nature of that market niche, and how these factors might affect the commercialization of the technology.

6. Entry Strategy

This section uses the about market research to develop recommendations for your value proposition, and how you might enter the marketplace. We also identify potential lead customers or other stakeholders to help you with concurrent engineering (that is, giving you advice or beta testing), and recommend outlets for promoting the technology such as trade associations, journals, and conferences.

7. Intellectual Property

This section summarizes the IP that protects the innovation.

8. Targets

If you wish, have non-proprietary material we can provide, and are prepared to follow-up, we will make contact with potential Phase III partners to determine their interest in your technology. In these contacts we collect information useful for your follow-up, such as what other information they might like to see, who the key decision makers are, how long it takes them to do a deal once solid interest has been established, and so forth. If you do not want us to contact potential partners or are not prepared for us to do so, we will provide you contact information for your use when you are ready.

9. Revenue Projections

This is our advice on how to calculate the revenues your technology might capture in the marketplace.
